The architecture of Chayote Lodge has been carefully designed to incorporate the local elements of the coffee culture. The bungalows will resemble the Coffee "Recibidores" – Coffee Receiving Stations. These Recibidoresare nestled along the terraced roads and hills. At the end of the day, local farmers will haul their coffee cherries to the Recibidor to be processed in larger mills. These represent an iconic symbol in Costa Rican coffee culture and are the inspiration to each guest's Recibidor.
